Hey, how are you doing?
I am Wyeth00 from FrozenPotion - One half of the dev team from Germany. Me and Buranbai have been developing OP90 (Operator-90) for half a year in our spare time. Pretty tricky with work, freelancing and just life getting in the way constantly!
After much back and forth and a near complete re-design a few months ago (after A MAZE Fest, Berlin), we finally feel that we are far along in the development cycle to show it to you guys. This is also my first blog post ever.
The game will be on mobile (iOS, Android) once it's done, but I just wanted to get a beta version as a web-client out that can be viewed and played by anyone who feels like. Sadly Chrome deprecated the Unity-Plugin and export as HTML5 is still kinda buggy...
It's pretty weird looking back at the old game and comparing it to the new one, this is what the game looks like now (actually a few things here are allready different in the current versionn but eh, close enough):
From this Old (horrible version from the beginning of development):
Quite the difference I think. The game used to be so much slower and also more about math. I am sure it will only go forward from here as we are still hard at work to make it the best puzzle-SHMUP-ant-killing-simulator we can!
We love user feedback and take it quite seriously. Any feedback we ever gotten is neatly stored in a file and we will definitely consider each and every suggestion we get. Depending on the simplicity, we implement it and test it out internally with a small group of testers, then (If that goes well) bring it to a bigger audience at a convention or meetup.
If you are curious what it looks like when it is played on a mobile device, here is some footage from a small event last month (Sorry about the quality not being the best. Also it's someone attempting our hardest level, he made it eventually, but not on video sadly):
Have a great day and really enjoying the feedback so far.
Also: Thanks a lot to Tom Fulp for creating Newgrounds and also giving us a feature for robot day!
Happy Robot Day,
